Hello! I’m Kaitlin, a children’s book author and illustrator from beautiful Alberta, Canada. Everyone visits for the Rocky Mountains, but I am a prairie girl through and through.

Writing was my first love. I eventually figured out that the best complement to my words would be pictures, and in 2020, I picked up a paintbrush for the first time.

I believe the ordinary can be marvellous, and much of my work takes inspiration from my wonderfully simple childhood on the farm. Now, as a stay-at-home mother to two children and one melodramatic cat, my days are often filled with scenes that beg to be portrayed on paper.

Although I appreciate digital art, my heart lies with the paints, brushes, and stubby pencil crayons that litter my desk after a good day of traditional artwork.

When I’m not parenting, painting, or picking dried Play-Doh out of the carpet, you can find me attempting to rid my garden of weeds, out for a run, or curled up, chain-reading Emily Henry books like the addict that I am.
